Hey there! Welcome to the LumiVillage community. We’re more than just an app; we’re a neighborhood of learners and experts. Think of us as your digital wingmate—here to ensure you have the best experience while you’re building new skills. To keep our “village” vibrant and professional, we’ve put together these rules of the road.
1. THE “EXPERT” STANDARD: TEACH WHAT YOU KNOW
Authenticity is the heart of LumiVillage. We want our students to learn from real experts.
- Teach What You Know: Only offer instruction in skills where you have genuine proficiency, experience, or certification. Don’t “wing it.”
- Accurate Profiles: Be honest about your skill level and background. If you are a hobbyist piano player, don’t list yourself as a “Conservatory Trained Professional.”
- Clear Expectations: Before a session begins, use the chat to ensure you and the student are on the same page regarding the goals for that hour.
2. PROFESSIONALISM & RELIABILITY
We respect everyone’s most valuable resource: Time.
- Show Up on Time: “On time” means being ready to start at the scheduled minute. If a session is at 2:00 PM, you should be at the location and ready to go by 2:00 PM.
- Communicate Early: Life happens. If you are running 5 minutes late or need to reschedule, use the in-app chat to notify the other party immediately.
- No-Show Policy: Failing to show up without notice is a violation of our community trust and may lead to immediate account suspension and a 100% refund for the student.
3. RADICAL RESPECT
Every interaction in the Village should be rooted in mutual respect.
- Zero Tolerance for Harassment: We have a strictly enforced policy against hate speech, bullying, or any form of discrimination based on race, religion, gender, or orientation.
- Professional Boundaries: Keep the conversation focused on the skill being taught. Unwanted sexual advances or inappropriate personal comments will result in a permanent ban.
- Physical Consent: If the instruction requires physical adjustment (e.g., correcting a yoga pose or a golf grip), the Provider must ask for and receive explicit verbal consent first.
4. PROTECT THE VILLAGE (ON-PLATFORM ONLY)
To ensure you are covered by our Peace of Mind Pledge and identity verification, all payments and communications must stay within the app.
- No Off-Platforming: Do not ask for or offer payments via Cash, Venmo, or Zelle.
- Why It Matters: Sessions paid for outside of LumiVillage cannot be tracked by our AWS safety tools, are not protected by our Stripe secure payment protocols, and violate our Terms of Service.
5. AUTHENTICITY & VERIFICATION
- Trust the Badge: We use Didit identity verification to ensure everyone is who they say they are. Always ensure your profile photo is a clear, current representation of yourself.

By downloading this App, you agree to the LumiVillage Terms of Service. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Platform for personal, non-commercial instructional purposes. You agree not to reverse-engineer the App or use it for any unauthorized or illegal activity. All rights not expressly granted are reserved by LumiVillage, LLC.
