LUMIVILLAGE PRIVACY POLICY

Hey there! Welcome to the LumiVillage Privacy Policy. We’ve worked hard to make this clear and engaging because we actually want you to read it. Think of us as your digital wingmate—here to guide you through what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we use it to help you gain new skills safely.

2. WHERE THIS PRIVACY POLICY APPLIES

This Privacy Policy applies to the LumiVillage mobile application (the “App”), our website (lumivillage.com), and all related services operated under the LumiVillage brand.

3. DATA WE COLLECT

We cannot facilitate meaningful skill-sharing or ensure community safety without certain information.

A. Data You Give Us

  • Account Data: Mobile phone number (for passwordless login), email, and date of birth.
  • Profile Data: Name, gender, interests, and the skills you are seeking or providing.
  • Identity & Verification (The “Didit” Protocol): To prevent fraud, we require a government-issued photo ID and a “Live Selfie.”
  • Biometric Data (Sensitive): Our partner, Didit, processes facial geometry to verify your ID. LumiVillage does not store raw biometric templates; we receive a “Verification Status.”
  • Content: Photos, videos, and text shared in your chats or uploaded as “Work Samples” to your portfolio.

B. Data Generated or Automatically Collected

  • Usage & Technical Data: IP address, device ID, and app performance logs, securely hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Precise Geolocation Data (Sensitive): With your permission, we collect your GPS coordinates. This helps us find Users near you.

C. Purchase Data

Payments are processed by Stripe. We keep transaction metadata (date/price), but we do not store full credit card or bank account numbers.

4. HOW WE USE YOUR DATA

  • Service Functionality: Creating your account and processing payments via Stripe.
  • Safety & Integrity: Human moderation of reported chats for misconduct or “off-platform” payment solicitation.
  • Verification: Confirming your identity through the Didit biometric protocol.
  • Peace of Mind: Verifying session attendance via GPS.

5. YOUR RIGHTS AND CHOICES

  • Right to Access & Portability: You can request a .CSV export of your data by emailing info@lumivillage.com.
  • Right to Delete: You can request account deletion via the “Delete Account” button in Settings.
  • No Sale or Sharing: LumiVillage does not “sell” your personal data or “share” it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
  • Limit Sensitive Data: You can toggle location permissions in your device settings.

6. DATA RESIDENCY & FOREIGN ADVERSARIES

  • Residency: All user data is stored on secure AWS servers located within the United States.
  • Disclosure: LumiVillage is not owned, controlled, or directed by any entity located in a designated “foreign adversary” country (including China, Russia, Iran, North Korea, Cuba, or Venezuela).

7. DATA RETENTION

  • Standard Deletion: If you close your account, we typically delete your data after 3 months.
  • The Safety Blocklist: If you are banned for a safety violation, we retain a secure “hash” of your ID and phone number indefinitely to prevent you from creating a new account.
  • Biometric Data: Didit retains verification records only as long as necessary for legal compliance, generally not exceeding 3 years.

8. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

Our service is strictly restricted to individuals 18 years of age or older. If we discover a minor has bypassed verification, the account will be terminated immediately.
